What leathers are available on your products?

All items are available in Midnight Black, Ruby Red and Sienna Brown full grain cowhide. Most items are also available in Black Alligator printed cowhide, and Black Ostrich printed cowhide. The available leathers are shown on each individual product window. We also purchase tannery end runs from time to time. If you're interested, please give us a call.

Can you explain more about the leathers you use?

All of our hides are from mature domestic cows raised for beef consumption. It is a renewable resource that is unmatched for its beauty and durability. All five of our stock leathers are "dye struck" at the tannery. The hides are tumbled for hours in large drums with coloring dyes and other finishing ingredients until the solution has fully penetrated throughout the hide. Unlike hides that are spray dyed, the dye struck hides will not show a lighter color if they are scuffed or scratched.

What about the Alligator and Ostrich grained leathers?

The same domestic cowhides are used to produce these exotic leathers. Large plates simulate the appearance, detail and texture of authentic alligator and ostrich hides. Powerful presses apply over 300 tons of pressure to emboss the grain into the cowhide. The result is nothing short of amazing – the look and feel of exotic leathers at a fraction of the cost!

What happens if my Leatherworks product has a mark on the leather?

Leather is a natural material made from the hides of animals. Just as no two animals are exactly alike, no two pieces of leather are identical. In addition to its own genetic heritage, each hide bears the little nicks and scars that marked the animal during its lifetime. These natural characteristics are not defects and are considered marks of distinction in Full Grain Leather, adding to the unique appeal of each finished product.

Will your colors always be the same?

We attempt to provide web images of our products that closely match their natural colors. However, due to the differing color settings of a multitude of computer monitors, we cannot guarantee that the color you see on your monitor will exactly match what you receive. Slight color variations can also occur between runs of leather we receive from the tannery. If you're concerned about this, we will gladly send you a swatch of the leather(s) you're interested in.

Where are your products made?

We are proud to say that all of our products are crafted with pride in St. Paul Park, Minnesota, USA.

Do you take returns?

All of our products are handmade when ordered. Please shop carefully. We accept returns on manufacturer defects only.

Are there items in the line that can be logo imprinted?

Yes. All 'flat' leather items such as the folios, card cases and keyrings can be debossed with your logo. Due to the heavy grain, imprinting is not recommended on the printed Alligator and Ostrich. Imprinting information is shown on each individual product window.

Will I receive an order acknowledgment after I place my order?

Orders of $500 or more will be acknowledged via fax. Review your acknowledgment carefully and communicate discrepancies promptly. Unless we are notified immediately, we will not be responsible for errors.

How are your products shipped?

We ship via UPS in the US. Please allow 2–3 weeks for delivery.
